A simple test is to stand where you’d actually spend time and ask, “How often will I look at this view, and at what times?” Marketing photos often show a view from the balcony at the perfect sunset moment. But in real life, you might spend more time at the dining table, kitchen sink or work desk.
When you visit, sit down on the sofa, stand in the kitchen, lie on the bed if you can. Look out from those spots. Do you see something genuinely pleasant – trees, open sky, water, distant city lights – or mostly neighbouring walls and windows?
Also consider the direction. A wonderful view that faces harsh western sun might come with heat and glare. A softer, less dramatic view that you enjoy every morning may matter more than a postcard moment you rarely see.
The real question is: “Will this view make my everyday moments better?” If yes, it’s worth paying attention to. If it only impresses in photos, but you won’t actually enjoy it much, don’t let it dominate your decision.
