It depends on your priorities, but wall-mounting the TV is often more practical in smaller homes. It frees up surface space on furniture, makes cleaning easier, and reduces the risk of the TV being knocked over by children or pets. With hidden cables or a simple cable channel, the area looks cleaner too.

However, using a TV unit has advantages. You gain storage for devices, remotes, gaming consoles and decor. It’s also easier to change the setup later; moving a piece of furniture is simpler than patching holes in the wall.

If you rent, check your landlord’s rules. In some places, drilling for heavy mounts isn’t allowed or needs permission. In others, it’s fine as long as you repair the wall when you leave.

For most homes, a mix works well: a wall-mounted TV with a slim unit or console below for storage and aesthetics. That way you get the best of both worlds.
