One key thing is to check both water pressure and reliability in real time. Turn on taps in multiple places – kitchen, bathroom sink, shower – and see how strong and steady the flow is. Then ask very direct questions about water timings, municipal supply versus tankers, and any known shortages in summer.
Talk to neighbours, not just the seller or agent. They’ll tell you if water cuts are frequent, if pumps are noisy at odd hours, or if there are long-standing complaints. You can live with a small room more easily than with constant water stress.
Also ask about water quality: hardness, need for filters, and any stains or scaling issues. Hard water isn’t a deal-breaker, but it affects appliances and plumbing over time.
Water is one of those background things people assume will “just be okay,” until it isn’t. Confirming how it really works in that building or locality before you commit is always worth the effort.
